The Okinawan Expressway

Well, I've been driving on the Okinawan Expressway for a few days now. Sometimes I'll take it to work, and sometimes I'll take it home. All-in-all, it saves me about 10-minutes either way. That's not a huge savings considering it takes me an hour to get to/from work. Anyway, I don't use it everyday, but I wanted to check it out to see what all of the hype was about. I scanned a toll receipt to let you see what it looks like.

Keep in mind that as of the date that I wrote this, the Yen rate per US Dollar was 105 Yen to the Dollar. So, when you see 300 Yen, it equates to roughly $3.00. It's kinda pricey if you ask me because for $3.00 I'm only driving about 20 kilometers at 80 kilometers per hour (or 49 MPH). Yes, less than 50 MPH on the EXPRESSWAY! The main roadways that aren't the expressway average about 40-50 kilometers per hour (or about 25-30 MPH). Also, the toll booth attendants accept credit cards just in case you don't have any Yen on you.
