World Traveler

Here we are in Seattle (SEATAC) International Airport waiting to board the 747 bound for Yokota Air Force Base, Japan.

Victoria enjoying her Boppy pillow at the Ramada Hotel in Seattle the afternoon before we head for Japan! We flew into SEATAC the day before because the check-in for our flight to Japan was at 0430, which means we had to get up at 0300 to get ready and get to the airport. What a long day!

Hello Everyone! We are finally starting to settle down in our new home here in Japan and are finding some time to add the many new pictures we have to the blog. Our flights were quite long and Victoria was such a little trooper during the whole trip. On our flight from Boston to Seattle, Washington there were 4 or 5 other small children and infants and they all did so well I didn't hear a peep from any of them. Victoria slept the whole 6 hours of flying time. She was a hit with all the flight attendants. They all wanted to hold her. We found our way to the hotel after that flight and she was just smiling and happy as could be despite the time change (3 hours behind the East coast). The next morning she woke up with smiles at 3am so we could get ready for our next flight. At the airport by 4am to stand in line for 2 hours, she slept then too. The military flights are very full so it was wise to get there early so we don't have to wait in a line longer than that. We were 2nd in line. The flight from Seattle to Mainland Japan was in a huge plane (747) that had 2 stories on it, there were so many kids on this flight and I think they put us all in the same area of the plane... the back. It was difficult walking from the front to the back of the plane with Victoria, her carseat, and the 2 carry-on bags plus her diaper bag, but we made it. Again, she slept very well. She was awake for more of this flight (10-hours long). There was a lot going on around us, and she liked the lights on the ceiling of the plane. She was smiling and cooing at them off and on for the entire flight. Once we finally got to Mainland Japan (Yokota Air Force Base) we had to get off the plane with our carry-on items so they could refuel and restock the plane. It was hot there and felt like a long wait, but we were soon on our way to Okinawa to see Daddy. We arrived at 7pm and were greeted by daddy at the baggage claim. What a flight! What a great baby!

Love,

Andreana
